The theme of staying home, inviting over a few friends for a social evening of fun and connecting is expanding in our world today.  A recent article on this site talks about how more singles and couples are having evenings at home connecting and sharing with each other by playing games like Do Tell the Relationship game.  In a September 21 article by writer Trymaine Lee the title says it all: “Dating When the A.T.M. Warns Against It”.  It seems this trend is spreading as New Yorkers are playing board games more and more with friends to get that social interaction they used to get over expensive dinners.

Is this trend going to stick?  Are we going back to olde days when social networking actually involved connecting with someone in the same room?  I see questions being asked like “How are you going to connect with your friends now that you must do it in your own home?

The new-new social networking is connecting. A good way to start is by playing board games for the family to create quality time, or having some neighbors over for some time off from day to day life.
