My family and I are a little concerned about the upcoming pandemic. It appears we will have to stay inside and reduce our meanderings about town. Hmmm, the thoughts of our family and the neighbors all getting cabin fever at the same time has me a little concerned. So what to do with my family in a pandemic?

Well, stay at home and play a game is one choice. But what game would be different each time we played it? Certainly not a trivia-type memory game, nor a game with questions so simplistic that they bring out the dumb answers in all of us. Nor one that has the words conquer or destroy in the instruction sheet. So what would work well with just our family and a few friends.

I think a party game that’s also a family game. How about a board game so we can gather around,  serve snacks or even play by candlelight. Here’s a novel idea, playing one where you win simply by playing and being yourself. One that takes less than an hour to play so it creates a nice break in our evening but doesn’t take up too much time.

Hmmm, I know a game like that, Do Tell the Relationship Game, and its reviewed on this site. Our family has it and I can testify that it truly is both different! and fun! every time we play it. You can even take a break and let another player join in the middle as the true fun is simply just “Doing and Telling” as you draw the cards. Maybe I’m old fashioned, but I like “simple and fun”.

Well pandemic or not, I have stocked the cupboards with food and water, some entertainment grade snacks, and the Do Tell board game to help me turn our neighborhood into a community again.
