I played the Family Version of Do Tell with my dad, who’s 83 and my brother, who is in his early 50′s. We’ve all had a troubled relationship from the get-go, and my connection to my brother has been distant even though all 3 of us live only 20 miles apart. After my dad’s birthday dinner, I pulled out Do Tell and we began to play.

Within minutes, tension began to melt away, we relaxed, smiles appeared as well as laughter. I’ve never seen my brother so animated! And my dad, who was pretty blue that day due to aches and pains, got so delightfully distracted that he was practically bouncing out of his chair! Now I feel much closer to my family, and know more about my brother than I could have ever imagined–I’d never heard the story about him trying to flush our cat down the toilet when he was four.

Healing and bonding can never happen too late in life, and I’m overjoyed and grateful to Do Tell.  Joyce Van Horn
